June 2010 Parcels Helensvale
On Thursday 3rd June the members of North Gold Coast RSL Sub Branch assembled at Westfield Helensvale to pack the next load of parcels to be sent to Afghanistan. Sub Branch President Don Robertson was assisted by Robin Cope, Joanne Robinson, Noel Martin, Ray Wilson, Alan Walker, Gwenda Moroney, Richard Alderton, Chaplain Don Myatt, Ray Martin and Michael Simmons with the packing and posting of 100 parcels. Thank you all for coming along to assist.
The shoppers at Westfield were very generous with items for parcels to the extent that a further 10 boxes were packed and posted on Friday 4th June. A huge thank you to everyone who donated items and cash - your names have been added to the Parcel Program Sponsors List Brochure and to this web site to show our appreciation for your support.
The District thanks the Management of Westfield Helensvale for allowing us to pack parcels in their centre and to advertise the work of the Gold Coast District RSL.
The District was also visited by the Sunshine Coast District Executive who came to see how our parcel process worked. They will also be sending parcels in July. Good Luck with that Sunny Coast!
